Active Compliance Launches New Version of its IT Risk and Compliance Management Solution

New capabilities enable IT organizations to manage IT risk and compliance processes more cost-effectively and with fewer IT resources

ATLANTA, Feb. 20, 2008 — Active Compliance today announced the release of version 3.4 of its IT Risk and Compliance Management product, CR3. This new release delivers a rich set of functionality to help IT organizations in highly regulated industries reduce the cost and complexity of complying with a wide array of regulatory mandates.

Developed in response to the key challenges facing large IT organizations, the new features in CR3 further strengthen Active Compliance’s leadership position in the IT risk and compliance market.

“Companies are increasingly asking, ‘How do we take time, cost and resources out of the IT compliance process? How can we more accurately assess and analyze our business risk position? And how can we use compliance information to make quicker and more informed risk decisions?’” said George Valentine, president of Active Compliance. “That’s where our new expanded offering can help.”

Central to this new version is the Digital Workbench engine, which enables IT professionals to easily develop data connectors that can automatically retrieve compliance testing data from any source across the enterprise, whether third-party products, legacy applications or custom controls. Other key functionality available in the new version includes:
  • IT Risk Management. Through weighting, prioritization and analytics, the product’s new IT risk management and assessment capabilities enable IT organizations to significantly compress the time and resources needed to identify, analyze, manage and mitigate IT operational risk.
  • Business Intelligence (BI) engine. The product’s new BI engine allows IT organizations to easily retrieve compliance data from any source, apply business analytics to the data and present it in a rich, graphical format, transforming it into relevant and actionable information.

“The most important aspect of digital testing is breadth,” said Valentine. “If a product can’t test an organization’s IT controls framework across the entire IT landscape, it’s not going to deliver the anticipated benefits. We’ve designed this new version of CR3 with that specific objective in mind.”
